Building Hope in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

Building Homes. Building Hope. Supporting the Edith Sanford Breast Center

At Heritage Homes, we believe that being part of a community means more than simply building beautiful homes. It means showing up for our neighbors, supporting meaningful causes, and using our platform to make a positive impact. Every October, we are proud to stand alongside the Fargo community in support of breast cancer awareness by partnering with the Edith Sanford Breast Center through the Sanford Health Foundation.

October is nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a time dedicated to raising awareness about breast health, promoting early detection, and supporting those affected by breast cancer. For many families in our community, this cause is deeply personal. Whether it’s a mother, sister, friend, or neighbor, breast cancer has touched countless lives. That’s why we are committed to doing our part to bring awareness, support patients, and contribute to the vital work being done right here in our community.

How We Support

Throughout the month of October each year, our team comes together in several meaningful ways to raise awareness and support the Edith Sanford Breast Center.

Lighting Our Model Homes Pink

Our model homes and office will shine bright with pink lights as a visible reminder of the fight against breast cancer. These lights symbolize hope, strength, and solidarity with those currently battling the disease, survivors celebrating life, and families supporting loved ones through treatment.

Wearing Pink with Pride

Our team proudly wears pink throughout the month to help spark conversations and remind our community about the importance of breast cancer awareness and early detection. It’s a simple gesture that reflects our collective support and commitment to the cause.

Giving Back with Every Contract

We’re turning homebuilding into an opportunity to make a difference. For every contract written during the month of October, Heritage Homes will donate $500 to the Sanford Health Foundation in support of the Edith Sanford Breast Center. With every home we help build, we are also helping build hope for patients and families facing breast cancer.

The Importance of Early Detection

One of the most powerful tools in the fight against breast cancer is early detection. When breast cancer is found early, treatment options are often more effective and outcomes can be significantly improved.

The specialists at the Edith Sanford Breast Center work with patients at every stage of breast health—from routine screenings to diagnosis and treatment planning. Their team uses advanced technology and personalized care to help detect breast cancer as early as possible.

Screening and diagnostic technologies available include:

  • 3D Mammograms, which provide detailed imaging for more accurate detection
  • Breast MRI, offering advanced imaging for high-risk patients and complex cases
  • Breast Ultrasound, often used to further evaluate findings from mammograms
  • Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM), an innovative imaging technique that can help detect cancers that may not be visible with standard imaging

These technologies, combined with expert radiologists and compassionate care teams, help ensure patients receive the best possible care close to home.
